You can cooperate with the Holy Spirit by using the 20 Idea Method.

John 20:22 (NKJV)inspiration-light-bulb
He breathed on them, and said to them,
“Receive the Holy Spirit.”

Question: What’s the difference between motivation and inspiration?  Answer: Motivation is external and it comes from people; inspiration is internal and it comes from the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is the breath of God.  In fact, the word “inspiration” has the same definition (in Webster’s Dictionary) as the word “breathe.”  Jesus breathed on the disciples (in John 20:22) and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”  The Holy Spirit is your personal inspiration.

The 20 Idea Method will keep you motivated and inspired.  Here’s how it works:

You take out a sheet of paper and write down your current goal, your heart’s desire, your God-given dream, in the form of a question at the top of the page.  Here are some examples: What steps do I need to take to realize my God-given dream?  How can I connect with the people who can help me achieve my goals?  How can I double my sales in 30 days?  How can I lose 20 pounds in 60 days?  How can I use my time more effectively this week?

Then you list the numbers one through 20 down the left hand side of the page.  Every morning take some time to be quiet and “listen” to the answers that the Holy Spirit will give you.  The first 10 answers will come quickly, the next 5 a little more slowly, and the last five may take even longer.  In many cases, the last two or three answers will be your most effective answers, so you must be patient with this exercise.  It may take days, or even weeks, to receive your best answers.

Next, prioritize the answers in order of their effectiveness.  If you feel answer number 12 will produce the best results, take action on it first, and then prioritize the rest of the answers in order of their effectiveness.  Then begin to take action on each one.

Using the 20 Idea Method on a continual basis is yet another way you can cooperate with the Holy Spirit.  You can use the 20-Idea Method in the way we have just described to move rapidly toward the achievement of your goals and the realization of your God-given dream.
