Matthew 5:14 (NCV)
“You are the light that gives light to the world.”
Jesus is intimating that you are here on earth to be the light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept hidden. Go public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If Jesus makes you a light-bearer, you don’t think He’s going to hide you under a bucket, do you?
Jesus has put you on a light stand. Now that He’s put you there on a light stand—shine! Keep an open house and be generous with your life. By opening up to others, you will prompt people to open up to God – our generous Father in heaven!
