The familiar saying “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” has become known as the “Golden Rule.”

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERALuke 6:31 (NCV)
Do to others what you would want them to do to you.

In the context of Jesus’ teaching, the Golden Rule is a practical expression of what it means to walk in love.  The New Testament usage reveals that the Golden Rule occurs in contexts of love for others.  The Golden Rule is the foundation of active goodness and mercy.  This is the kind of love God shows to us every day.  God’s faithful love for us is to be the motivation for us to practice the Golden Rule.  Think of a good and merciful action you can do for someone and then do it today! To practice the Golden Rule, even in small measure, makes us happy, helps us in our business, and improves every relationship.  People like to deal with those who believe in and practice the Golden Rule.  In serving others we serve ourselves.  Eugene Peterson said it this way in the Message paraphrase, “Here is a simple rule of thumb for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you; then grab the initiative and do it for them!”

To help you practice the Golden Rule I have recorded the Love Scriptures from cover to cover as they are found in the Bible.
