2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV)
We live by faith, not by sight.

The word “sight” refers to the five physical senses.  Therefore, living by faith means we shouldn’t conduct ourselves solely by what our five senses indicate.  Living by faith means living independent of the sense realm.  The statement “We live by faith, not by sight” means we shouldn’t govern ourselves solely according to the sense realm.  The sense realm includes what we see and how we feel.  Therefore, we are to live by faith and not solely by what we see or how we feel.[mp3-jplayer list=”hidden” play=”false” pos=”left”]Living by faith means you are to be governed by your belief in God and His promises as outlined in His Word.  You are to be governed by God’s Word, not solely by what you see and how you feel.

The spiritual battle is between you living by faith and you living solely by what you see and how you feel.  Living by faith means you respond to life with the Word of God instead of just reacting to your circumstances all the time.  The spiritual battle is between what the Word of God says and what’s happening in the sense realm of your life (in the form of your circumstances).  In its most basic definition, to live by faith means you live independent of the sense realm.
