Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV)
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
Ephesians 3:20 (NIV)
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
I want you to notice that the words think and imagine are used interchangeably. According to this verse, our responsibility is to talk about and imagine how we want our lives to turn out. God’s responsibility is to do things in our lives that are beyond our wildest dreams. The idea here is that the power at work within us only works when we choose the future we want.
The Holy Spirit is the power of God that is at work in your life. According to Ephesians 3:20, the Holy Spirit is going to manifest (in your life) exceedingly abundantly, and immeasurably more, than all you ask, think, or imagine. God’s power becomes effective in your life as you cooperate with the Holy Spirit, and the way you cooperate with the Holy Spirit is by talking about and visualizing how you want your life to turn out. God’s power becomes effective in your life as you cooperate with the Holy Spirit by choosing the future you want.
It’s been said that your brain and nervous system can’t tell the difference between a real experience and one that is vividly imagined. If that’s true, now you know why – that’s the way God created you to function!
