Did you ever hear the expression, “You are what you eat?”  That may be true, but in this week’s success scripture, Jesus gives us the reason you are what you… hear!

Mark 4:24 (AMP) Hearing Ear
And He said to them, “Be careful what you are hearing.  The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you – and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.”

You can receive more of God’s best!  The first prerequisite to receiving more of God’s best is to identify what is going to be the source of truth for your life.  Many people never give any consistent thought to what they have accepted as the source of truth for their lives.

[mp3-jplayer list=”hidden” play=”false” pos=”left”] For many, the source of truth for their lives is their environment (I’m the way I am because of the way I was brought up).  For some, it’s their experiences (I’m the way I am because of what’s happened to me in my life).  For others, it’s the government (I can’t succeed in business when I have to pay such high taxes) or the media (Haven’t you heard we’re in a recession?).  I like what one wise person said, “I’ve chosen not participate in the last 6 recessions that never happened.”

The case for God’s Word as the best explanation of truth includes, but is not limited to: historical accuracy, thousands of archaeological discoveries, philosophical integrity, eyewitness testimony, and prophetic reliability.  All of this overwhelming evidence confirms the efficacy of the Bible as the Word of God.

Once you decide to accept God’s Word as the source of truth for your life, the next step is to put yourself in a position to hear the principles contained in God’s Master Success Book a regular basis.  What you hear is a choice, and you decide how successful you want to be by what you choose to hear.

The growth in your life will reflect what you hear and what you meditate on.  What you hear and what you meditate on will cause more success to come into your life or it will actually cause the success that you have attained to disappear and exit your life.  Jesus confirmed this in Mark 4:25 when He said, “For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have even what he has will be taken away from him.”

What you hear becomes what you meditate on, and what you meditate on goes into your heart, and what goes into your heart programs your success mechanism.  The inevitable result of what you allow into your heart is what eventually comes out of your heart and into your life in the form of results.  When you meditate on the principles contained in God’s Master Success Book, you are conditioning your heart to produce positive results in your life.  Programming your success mechanism with God’s success principles will allow you to live the life of victory and success that God has made available to you.
