Galatians 5:6 (NKJV)
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.
Galatians 6:15 and Galatians 5:6 both start the same way (they have the same first two phrases), but they each have a different ending. I want to draw your attention to the ending of each verse: Galatians 6:15 ends with the phrase: “but a new creation.” Galatians 5:6 ends with the phrase: “but faith working through love.” Therefore, we could say that a new creation person lives by the principle of faith working through love. Another way to say it would be: A new creation person lives by faith and walks in love. A new creation person lives by faith and walks in love.
This is to be the lifestyle of a new creation person – living by faith and walking in love. This is the way God originally designed the human race to function, but as a result of Adam’s sin, the human race lost the ability to live by faith and walk in love. However, in Christ Jesus, God has restored that ability so that a new creation person can live by faith and walk in love.
There are two philosophies whereby people govern their lives – the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of the world. The kingdom of the world is based on the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. (See 1 John 2:16.) The Kingdom of God is based on God’s Word applied from faith and love.
It’s amazing how many Christians are pursuing the same things the world is pursuing – fame, fortune, and pleasure. Pursuing fame, fortune, and pleasure leads to chasing after wants instead of needs, and it results in the confused attitudinal state known as the love of money. Which philosophy do you live by – the Kingdom of God or the kingdom of the world?
