Our Success Scripture this week answers the question: Labor Day is over, now what?

Romans 12:11 (NLT)
Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.

Like the Roman Christians, to whom the Apostle Paul was writing to, all Christians should do their jobs enthusiastically as if Jesus Christ were their supervisor.  Working with enthusiasm means working hard with a cheerful attitude.  Enthusiasm is allowing God to express Himself through you when you work, the origin and object of your cheerful attitude being Christ Himself.

If you could regard your work as an act of worship, such an attitude would take some of the drudgery and boredom out of it.  :You could work without complaining and resentment if you would treat your job challenges as one of the costs of discipleship.  Staying true to your character and working with a good attitude will pay off in the end because God states in His Word that He will reward you. (See 2 Corinthians 9:11)

Did you know that God has abundance in mind for you on your job and in your business?  God wants to use your work to make you a conduit of His blessing.  Receiving God’s blessing of abundance, and being generous with it, will make you a more effective witness for Christ as your abundance and generosity bring thanksgiving to God.  Abundance is a reward for having the right attitude toward work, and it results from your character and work ethic.

Labor Day is over, now what?  Answer: Work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically!
