Hebrews 7:25 (NKJV)
Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
The exciting thing about the present day ministry of Jesus is this: Jesus made a provision for you through His sacrifice, and now, as part of His present day ministry, Jesus is interceding on your behalf for that provision to manifest in your life. You can cooperate with the present day ministry of Jesus when you simply believe and receive that which He has provided.
I want you to notice two things in the last phrase of this verse: First, Jesus is alive. Second, He lives to pray for us. The word “intercession” means “a prayer to God on behalf of another.” Jesus is interceding on your behalf with God the Father. Hebrews 7:25 tells us that Jesus is alive and He is praying for you. Your job is to cooperate with the present day ministry of Jesus.
Here is how you can cooperate with the present day ministry of Jesus as outlined in this verse. The subject of the first part of the verse is salvation. The first promise that Jesus is praying would come to pass in your life is the promise of salvation. The word “uttermost” (in this verse) is a Greek word that means complete and permanent. This means that Jesus has provided eternal salvation for every human being; therefore, you can cooperate with the present day ministry of Jesus by accepting Him as your Savior. You can cooperate with the present day ministry of Jesus by accepting Jesus as your Savior.
Question: Why do I even need a Savior in the first place? Answer: Due to Adam’s sin, every human being is spiritually dead and separated from God. Every person, whether they want to admit it or not, has sinned and fallen short of God’s righteous standard. No matter how good someone may be, and no matter how many good works someone may do, without a Savior, they are still spiritually dead and separated from God.
In response to the fall of mankind, and as a solution to the sin problem of the human race, God came to the earth in a human body, and that person’s name is Jesus Christ. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit. This fact is important because it means Jesus didn’t inherit the sinful nature due to Adam’s sin. As a sinless man, Jesus qualified as an acceptable sacrifice for the sin of the human race. Jesus came to the earth to redeem the human race from sin and restore to them their spiritual inheritance in Christ.
Knowing that Jesus is alive today and that He is praying for you confirms the fact that God wants you to enjoy your inheritance in Christ. Our new 6-CD series, The Present Day Ministry of Jesus Christ, shows you how to cooperate with the prayers of Jesus for you. Click here to order
