In the wake of this past week’s tragic events in Baton Rouge, Minnesota, and Dallas, Texas, we must remember that the Bible contains God’s will and Exodus 20:13 reveals part of God’s will.

you-shall-not-murder-exodus-2013Exodus 20:13 (NKJV)
You shall not murder.

This commandment refers to the intentional, premeditated act of taking the life of another.  God loves people and considers them valuable and worthy of care.  This is the proof that life has meaning and that every person has a purpose.  In short, life is a gift from God and human dignity is to be respected.  Here’s how the sixth commandment can be applied as an expression of the divine nature: Respecting the lives of others is an expression of the divine nature.

As we grow more and more in our appreciation of what Jesus did for us, we will find ourselves expressing the divine nature more and more.  As we continue to embrace what it means to receive God’s love for us personally, we’ll find ourselves loving others more fully.  Expressing the divine nature is the solution to the world’s problems!
