John 20:17 (NKJV)
Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’”
Part of proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God includes telling people that God is their heavenly Father. This is important because many people view God as an ogre and a tyrant who blesses them when they do good and curses them when they do bad. However, this is not the New Testament view of God. In the New Testament, Jesus came to introduce the human race to God as a loving Father. Jesus came to introduce the human race to God as a loving Father!
Knowing God as Father intimates a personal relationship. This relationship promotes trust based on unconditional love. The only way you can really trust someone is when you know they love you unconditionally. This is important because knowing God loves you unconditionally is what allows you to trust Him for your protection and provision.
Protection and provision are two of the deepest needs of every human being. You can stay encouraged because God is not only your loving heavenly Father, but He’s also your protector and provider. Knowing God as Father enables you to trust Him for your protection and provision. Protection includes your good health; provision includes your every need being met.
When you know God personally as Father, you realize that you are a child in God’s royal family. This gives you God’s protection and provision. When you know God personally as Father, you realize that you are a kingdom citizen. This gives you the confidence to receive God’s protection and provision.
God gives, but that doesn’t mean receiving is automatic. Receiving equates to experiencing. Trusting in God’s unconditional love gives you the confidence to experience His protection and provision
Question: Have you received the unconditional love of God for yourself personally? Do you believe in your heart that God loves you unconditionally because you are the righteousness of God in Christ?
