Jesus is God’s will in physical manifestation. Our Success Scripture this week is basically saying that if you want to see God, simply look at the life of Jesus. Jesus Himself said, “I and My Father are one,” and Jesus repeatedly intimated that He was the will of God in action. (See John 4:34; John 5:30, 36; John 8:29, 42; John 12:45; John 14:6, 9)
Everything Jesus did produced increase. He never did anything that caused or promoted decrease. Here are some examples of increase from the Gospel of John: Jesus turned water into wine in John chapter 2. Jesus healed a boy at the point of death in John chapter 4. Jesus healed a man who was sick for 38 years in John chapter 5. Jesus fed 5000+ people in John chapter 6. Jesus offered total forgiveness to a sinner in John chapter 8. Jesus healed a blind man from birth in John chapter 9. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead in John chapter 11. And finally, Jesus rose from the dead in John chapter 20. These are all examples of increase.
Jesus always brought freedom in the form of healing and deliverance. He never made people suffer and He never allowed people to suffer needlessly. Jesus summed up God’s will when He stated His purpose in John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
Everything Jesus did and every miracle He performed is an example of what abundant living looks like. Anything that steals, kills, and destroys is simply not God’s will for your life. Jesus said it this way (in the NLT of John 10:10), “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” A rich and satisfying life certainly would include increase!
